Do you dare look (at the 100 words)?

"The Mirror" by William Shaw

Do you enjoy funny fantasy?

Hello dear readers, this is your editor, Victoria, stepping in for my annual shameless plug. I am releasing my debut novel Finished Business on September 15, and I am looking for Advanced Review Copy (ARC) readers.

What is an ARC? It is a free copy of a book provided ahead of publication to help garner early reviews and interest. Early reviews are critical for selling books, especially on Amazon.

What is the book about? Hazel Lawton is a young professional trying to succeed at her first job postcollege. The catch is she’s dead, her employer is one of Hell’s most fearsome demons, her colleague is a cupcake-loving coconut octopus, and the fate of her immoral soul may hinge on meeting her KPIs.

If that sounds fun, request an ARC here!

The Mirror

By: William Shaw

I stumbled over to the bathroom mirror.

Messy brown hair, blue eyes, pointed nose, crooked teeth. Yep, that was me alright.

What the fuck?

To be clear, I did not see a face with this list of attributes in the mirror. I saw the list itself. I saw those fourteen words, in neat twelve-point type on a white background.

I put my hand to the front of my head. Felt my nose, my eye sockets, my stubborn acne.

I breathed a sigh of relief as I pulled my hand away.

And then I saw my hand was covered in ink.
