We didn't forget your present

"Just in Time" by Susanna Fraser Stone

Happy holidays!

We didn’t forget your gift. Surprise! It’s a 100-word story.

Just in Time

By: Susanna Fraser Stone

It’s yesterday. Thirty teenagers, loud and alive, wait to board a bus.

“Lilah Vasquez!” I shout.

A girl whirls to face me, big brown eyes in a round young face.

“You forgot your epinephrine,” I tell her.

Lilah’s eyes widen as she takes in my words. She snatches the device and tucks it away in her bag.

“Oh my God! You’re a lifesaver. Thank you.”

I grin. “Have fun at camp.”

Growing up, I dreamed of time travel paleontology. But the deeper past we can only observe. Yesterday, we can fix. Temporal EMT is the best job in the world.
